I started to produce fan pages awhile ago, and have had great success at it. Some of them are simple, while others are a bit more complex. With the recent changes on Facebook and it’s rules for business pages, I have started to re-do all of them for my clients. Most of these changes are because of the requirement of all apps to be served to Facebook though a SSL enabled site. If they are not, they are not displayed. With a fast growing number of Surfers using secure surfing on Facebook, this seemed a logical step for the producers of this platform to make.
But what does it mean to me?
I know most of you are asking this right now, and for most of you it will mean nothing at all. The task of bringing your custom landing page into line is left up to your webmaster, but it WILL cost you more. If your site does not have a SSL certificate, and you serve your custom page from it (like I do) you will have to invest in one. If you have a custom landing page hosted somewhere else, you will have to make sure this hosting environment has one installed.
